1. Who we are

Hygrove Partners ("Hygrove", "we", "us" or "our") is a specialist construction recruitment and executive search business. For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, Hygrove Partners is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.

2. The personal data we collect

The data we hold depends on your relationship with us:

Candidates

• Identity and contact details — name, email, phone, postal address;
• CV and career information — work history, qualifications, skills, salary expectations, references;
• Right-to-work and eligibility information where required for a role;
• Interview notes, feedback and correspondence relating to your applications.

Clients & contacts

• Name, job title, business email, phone and the organisation you represent;
• Records of the roles you brief us on and our correspondence.

Website visitors

• Information you submit through our contact form;
• Limited technical and usage data collected via cookies (see section 8).

We may receive your data directly from you, from your referees, or from publicly available professional sources such as LinkedIn or a job board where you have made your details available for recruitment.

3. How and why we use your data

We only use your personal data where the law allows us to. The lawful bases we rely on under Article 6 of the UK GDPR are:

• Legitimate interests — to provide recruitment services, match candidates to roles, contact you about relevant opportunities and run our business, where this is not overridden by your rights;
• Performance of a contract — to deliver the services agreed with our clients and to progress a candidate through a recruitment process;
• Legal obligation — to comply with employment, right-to-work, tax and other legal requirements;
• Consent — where we ask for it, for example to keep your details on file for future roles or to send marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where necessary:

• With clients, to present you for a role — always with your knowledge;
• With service providers who support our business (for example IT, email, CRM and cloud hosting), under contracts that require them to protect your data;
• With professional advisers, regulators or authorities where we are required to by law.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

5. International transfers

Your data is primarily stored and processed in the UK. Where a service provider processes data outside the UK, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place — such as an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum — so your data receives an equivalent level of protection.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above. For candidates we typically retain records for up to two years from our last meaningful contact, after which we will delete or anonymise them unless a legal obligation requires us to keep them longer. You can ask us to remove your data sooner at any time.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• be informed about how your data is used (this notice);
• access a copy of the data we hold about you;
• request rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten");
• restrict or object to our processing;
• request data portability;
• withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@hygrove.co.uk. We will respond within one month. Exercising your rights is free of charge.

8. Cookies

This website uses a small number of cookies that are necessary for it to function and, where you agree, analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect how the site works.

If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority:
